was the 13th year in an ongoing project, dedicated to the observation of the sun at every crossing of the horizon and to sharing the awareness of that moment with others (i.e. ring a bell). This year's invitation was for others to witness and share a sunrise or sunset each month. With the onset of covid19, came the mandate to shelter in place. Knowing that we would be at home each evening, we decided to ring a LOUD bell every sunset, marking the day's end to anyone within earshot.

Turkeys Gone Home
September 9, 2020. Sunset 7:44. Gates Mills, OH.
This is where the 7 turkeys hang out during the day. All clear in the evening, making way for the crickets’ concert. These are the same bells we rang last night.
