was the 13th year in an ongoing project, dedicated to the observation of the sun at every crossing of the horizon and to sharing the awareness of that moment with others (i.e. ring a bell). This year's invitation was for others to witness and share a sunrise or sunset each month. With the onset of covid19, came the mandate to shelter in place. Knowing that we would be at home each evening, we decided to ring a LOUD bell every sunset, marking the day's end to anyone within earshot.

Day 155 it's started drizzling
August 23, 2020. Sunset 7:50 PM.
San Francisco, CA.
You notice how dark it is already? All the streetlights are lit.
And just as we were putting the bell away, it started to drizzle! We’re expecting more lightning strikes tonight- so praying that it helps in advance—
