was the 13th year in an ongoing project, dedicated to the observation of the sun at every crossing of the horizon and to sharing the awareness of that moment with others (i.e. ring a bell). This year's invitation was for others to witness and share a sunrise or sunset each month. With the onset of covid19, came the mandate to shelter in place. Knowing that we would be at home each evening, we decided to ring a LOUD bell every sunset, marking the day's end to anyone within earshot.

Heading back- Day 1- Roanoke or bust
December 18, 2020. Sunset 4:40 PM. Kutztown, PA.
1st day on the road driving from Brooklyn to San Francisco. It’s snowy and cold but the roads are clear. Sundown in Kutztown! Heading west on I78. First stop – Roanoke, VA. I just finished blasting the first hotel room I’ve stayed in since Covid with Ultraviolet light and ozone. It’s not so stinky after airing it out for 30 minutes and the room is very fresh and cold.
