was the 13th year in an ongoing project, dedicated to the observation of the sun at every crossing of the horizon and to sharing the awareness of that moment with others (i.e. ring a bell). This year's invitation was for others to witness and share a sunrise or sunset each month. With the onset of covid19, came the mandate to shelter in place. Knowing that we would be at home each evening, we decided to ring a LOUD bell every sunset, marking the day's end to anyone within earshot.

sweet sonic soup
April 19, 2020. Sunset 7:49 PM.
San Francisco, CA.
Serving up a sweet sonic soup this evening. Norman and I had some unexpected company when our friends Iris AlRoy from Bridge Storage and Art Space and Hallie McConlogue joined us with some lovely little bells. Hallie had us follow the sundown with a bit of song— Listen. a momentary reprieve.
Day 29 - Ringing the big bell out on the sidewalk for as long as we are sheltering in place.-BH
